Kontron, a German-based maker of embedded computing products, has announced the signing of an expanded distribution partnership agreement with distributor Bell Microproducts, Inc.. Under the terms of the agreement, Bell Micro will market and distribute Kontron's full line of embedded computing products in North and Central America.
This new agreement is an extension of an existing successful partnership already in place between the two companies, which primarily focused on Kontron's Carrier Grade and Rack Mount Servers.
Kontron is one of the world's largest manufacturers of embedded computing technology. The company also supports one of the industry's broadest portfolios, offering boards and mezzanines, Computer-on-Modules, HMIs and displays, systems and platforms, communications-grade rack mount servers, rugged, and custom products designed to significantly reduce time-to-market and development costs.
Leading OEMs, system integrators and application providers integrate Kontron products into demanding applications in a wide range of embedded market segments that include data and telecommunications, automation, mobile computing, medical, military and aerospace, and control and measurement engineering.
"As one of the leading distributors of computing technology, Bell Microproducts aligns well with Kontron's long-term strategy of expanding our sales channel with strong distributors," said Mike Kadri, vice president of sales for the Americas at Kontron. "Our partnership with Bell Micro gives Kontron access to new markets and enhances penetration into existing ones, which will add significant strategic value helping us achieve our sales channel goals."
"As the demand for standards-based computing technology accelerates into virtually every embedded system application, we believe the breadth of products from Kontron will strongly benefit our diverse customer base," said Chuck Kostalnick, president of North American Distribution at Bell Microproducts. "Kontron's leading-edge and proven technologies and platforms will be a welcome addition to our line at Bell Micro, expanding our reach into the communications, military, industrial automation and transportation verticals."
