InMage Systems has partnered with Yosemite Technologies to create an offering that combines Yosemite's FileKeeper Corporate continuous data protection (CDP) software with InMage's DR-Scout solution. The combined disaster recover/CDP offering will be available to InMage customers worldwide.

The combined offering ensures that data from both the servers and the notebook and desktop computers on the network is protected and available.

"Protecting data in both places can be complex and challenging, but failure to implement a solution that provides a business with total data protection could result in catastrophic data loss and, in the worst case, may even mean the failure of the business," said Arun Taneja, Founder, President and Consulting Analyst of the Taneja Group.

Yosemite FileKeeper Corporate replaces scheduled backups with CDP. Users can perform recoveries independent of network connection status, and everything can be controlled by an administrator via the FileKeeper Policy Server.

FileKeeper automatically backs up Windows documents in real-time every time they are saved to disk. These documents are protected on a data repository that resides on the local hard drive of the PC; then when the PC reconnects to the corporate network, FileKeeper automatically replicates each version of the file to one or more file servers or Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices. Only the byte level differences between versions are saved to save on space and bandwidth.

DR-Scout allows IT staff to recover any business event -- such as lost or deleted files and mailboxes -- within any storage environment in seconds or minutes. The product also offers push button failover for applications including Microsoft Exchange and SQL, SharePoint, Oracle, BlackBerry Server and SAP.

DR-Scout supports Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems, various virtualization platforms, and interoperability among all popular storage architectures, according to InMage.

"Yosemite's FileKeeper Corporate solution is well known for its 'set-it-and-forget-it' ease of use for protecting desktops and laptops," said John Ferraro, President & CEO of InMage. "Combining this with DR-Scout's robust BC/DR for production servers and applications will provide customers with unprecedented data protection from the core to the edge of their network as well as a high level of peace of mind."

Yosemite FileKeeper Corporate and InMage DR-Scout are both available now. Pricing for Yosemite FileKeeper Corporate starts at $39 per desktop or notebook with a minimum of 10 seats, and goes down to $35.10 in larger quantities of 50 or 100. DR-Scout is offered at a per-server cost of between $1,500 and $5,000.
