The comprehensive new product portfolio includes enterprise-class, multimedia Web conferencing and secure Instant Messaging (IM), which is offered through Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 and hosted by Apptix.

The solution integrates with the native Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft business productivity and communications applications including Outlook, which enables the initiation of a Web conference directly from an email message, secure IM chat window, or phone call.

At a time when businesses of all sizes are asking IT departments to do more with less, Apptix's new Web conferencing capability reduces expensive travel and communications costs while enhancing sales and collaboration efforts, said Rick Rumbarger, Vice President of Product, Apptix.

Apptix offers integrated Microsoft Office Live Meeting Web conferencing and secure IM capabilities through a monthly subscription, which starts at $14.95, rather than on a per-meeting basis. According to Apptix, this allows businesses to hold as many online meetings as necessary without concern for cost. Desktop sharing, video and audio are integrated directly through Internet-connected PCs, which eliminates the need for third-party video solutions and conference phone charges.

Meetings are potentially enhanced by the ability to incorporate multimedia capabilities such as movie clips and Flash animations, and greater collaboration is encouraged by an extensive set of tools, such as interactive whiteboards and surveys.

Apptix has also expanded its hosted services portfolio by adding hosted Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and an Online Presence solution.

Hosted VPS is designed to optimize computer power and enable businesses to run and manage applications on Apptix's infrastructure at a fraction of the cost of an in-house server.

Online Presence includes domain registration, DNS hosting, and Windows Website hosting capabilities, as well as tools and flexible templates to create professional-looking Web site with little or no experience.

Recently, Apptix announced the availability of an Online Backup service, which enables online backup and data recovery service through a partnership with EMC's Mozy.
