PacketTrap Networks says it has doubled the number of partners registered for its' partner program and has almost an equal number of agreements pending since launching it last December. And with the launch of its PerspectiveMSP solution, the company expects more VARs to join its ranks.

The PacketTrap Partner Program (PPP) is directed at value-added resellers, IT consultants, system integrators and network administrators that service business with up to 5,000 end points.

The growth of the number of partners participating in the PPP has been driven by demand for the company's network management technology, which highlights high margins and remote capabilities, company officials said.

"We've got a lot of requests from the VAR community to turn our Perspective product into an offering that they can provide to their customers for hard-core, detailed network monitoring and management," explained Matt Bolton, vice president, products, PacketTrap Networks. "We're good at monitoring devices, applications, and traffic going across the network."

Further, partners are attracted to the recurring revenue and extensive sell-through support capabilities that are part of the PPP. Finally, a confluence of events, including the proliferation of virtualization, VoIP and exploding amounts of data traversing the network, have challenged network administrators who were already struggling to manage their legacy systems and caused them to search for better options.

PacketTrap is working with the channel community in two ways. The company's flagship network management solution, Perspective, leverages an intelligent monitoring and management architecture to protect businesses against network disasters. It is ideal for resellers who work directly with enterprise IT departments given its' affordability, ease of use, and advanced technical capabilities including traffic analysis, reporting, alerting and performance baselines, Bolton said.

"This would be an area where the MSP could tell the client, '90 percent of your network traffic is YouTube', down to the individual who's accessing YouTube and at what times," he said. "We can get traffic across any network out there, which is a big selling point for an MSP going to the customer's site."

PerspectiveMSP is a solution that allows MSPs to collect, analyze and remediate network issues from a remote location.

"And we support VoIP as well," Bolton added. "That means the MSP can offer not only device monitoring, application monitoring, VoIP monitoring, wireless infrastructure monitoring; a whole plethora of network management offerings."

The PacketTrap Partner Program includes:

*A minimum of 30 percent margins;

*Sales tools and marketing collateral;

*Phone/email technical and sales support;

*Free NFR licenses;

*Dedicated account manager;

*Lead generation resources;

"We expect that our easy-to-use, affordable, scalable network management solutions, Perspective and PerspectiveMSP, will contribute significantly to our partners' bottom line while fully serving their customers' needs," said Steve Goodman, CEO of PacketTrap Networks, in a statement.
