Mushroom sprouts new VAR program for Its' Broadband Bonding technology
24 November, 2009 By Mark Cox |

San Diego-based Mushroom Networks Inc., has announced a new value added reseller program that will enable authorized partners to resell the company's unique line of Broadband Bonding products to the Internet service provider and IT services market sectors. With this program, Mushroom Networks is looking to expand and strengthen its global presence as demand for low-cost alternatives for extremely fast and reliable Internet services continues to grow.
Broadband Bonding is a trademarked name which Mushroom uses to describe a technology that combines multiple high-speed Internet connections of any type (DSL, cable, wireless, etc.) into a single Internet connection. For example, combining three DSL lines with one cable modem line and utilizing the combined bandwidth to power Internet services for small businesses or large enterprises at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods such as T1 or fiber. Or use Broadband Bonding to boost a company's existing T1 service by fusing an inexpensive DSL line with it - more than tripling the overall performance.
"Most companies are searching for smart and effective means for lowering their monthly broadband bills and increasing their reliability without sacrificing performance," said Dr. Cahit Akin, co-founder and CEO of Mushroom Networks. "Our VAR program delivers not only low-cost Internet alternatives to our resellers' customer base, but offers service options which are far superior in terms of speed and reliability. Already we have over 100 value added resellers worldwide and we are looking to expand further, especially overseas and in developing regions."
Mushroom Networks' VAR program covers a company's complete line of products, ranging from its flagship TRUFFLE, with ability to combine up to six wired broadband connections plus one USB cellular-card, to PortaBella, a wireless solution that combines up to four USB cellular-cards targeting various mobile applications such as traveling sales, temporary offices, live video streaming and broadcast news teams.
All products are Ethernet-based turn-key solutions that easily install between the broadband modems (or cellular-cards) and the local network at the customer's premises without requiring any configuration changes to the existing network or coordination with the ISP or carrier. These capabilities give the customer the ability to mix and match various services from multiple broadband providers, delivering built-in redundancy.
"We have been working closely with Mushroom Networks and through the reseller program have been able to offer our customers a whole new approach when it comes to broadband services," stated David Riggs of CCSI, an IT solutions provider based in Jackson, Tennessee. "By combining multiple broadband access connections into a single shared pipe, our business customers can now achieve fiber-like speeds and near 100 percent network reliability very inexpensively. The technology is truly a win for both us and the customers we serve."
Currently Mushroom Networks has more than 100 reseller partners around the world, including North America, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
